  • Excellent students in Ukrainian Studies receive prizes in recognition of their achievements. The first prizes to be established were memorial prizes in honour of benefactors of Ukrainian Studies at Monash University Stepan Soldat, Vasyl and Stefania Fokshan, and Joseph and Eugenia Pona.   • At the Faculty of Arts Awards evening (25 May 2016) at the Deakin Edge auditorium in Federation Square, Melbourne, the Dean of Arts Professor Rae Frances presented award certificates and cheques to undergraduate students who received the highest grades in the many disciplines of the Arts Faculty.   • The recipients of the 2016 Monash Rudewych Year 12 Ukrainian Language Scholarships and Encouragement Awards were announced in March, and prize certificates were presented to recipients in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide at Ukrainian community celebrations of Shevchenko Day.
