What is an Academic Mentor?

An academic mentor is a staff member who can guide you in all things academic as you adjust to university. These mentors support students and provide advice about things like time management, resources, where to go for course advice, and other academic matters.
The First in Family Academic Mentoring program is designed to give you access to an academic who understands that sometimes there are questions you may not feel comfortable asking your lecturers or tutors about. Sometimes our academic mentors are first in family themselves, but all of them are there to help you succeed and achieve at university.
