CTP is excited to introduce two new first year units for 2016. Acting 1: Theory and practice and Acting 2: Theory and practice will be offered by CTP in 2016 and will be open to all BA students interested in learning about different approaches to acting.
“The units will engage with some of the key actor training traditions and will explore these ideas through writing and through performance” explained Felix Nobis. “Students will be introduced to voice work, to physical theatre, as well as a range of specific traditions such as Brechtian performance and Stanislavsky”.
The unit will be coordinated by CTP Director Dr Jane Montgomery Griffiths, an actor of vast experience (Bell Shakespeare, Red Stitch, Malthouse Theatre). As with many CTP units, specialist classes will be taken by some of Melbourne’s most exciting practitioners. “The units are designed for all students whether they are hoping to forge a career in Theatre, or those wishing to develop vocal skills or develop their confidence in public presentation”.
