To mark the end of another  successful year, the Centre for Theatre and Performance held a ‘graduate evening’ aimed at providing students with industry insight and an opportunity to share creative ideas.  Held at the Malthouse Theatre, the event was attended by graduating students as well as students of the CTP Undergraduate and Postgraduate cohort.  Our guests for the evening included actor and Monash alumnus Max Gilles, Andrew Gregory (ABC TV), Robyn Arthur (actress and representing MEAA), Jayne Lovelock (Development Manager Malthouse Theatre),  Nicole Beyer (Theatre Network Australia) and Danny Delahunty (Artistic Director of Attic Erratic Theatre Co. and freelance casting consultant). The evening was MC’d by Felix Nobis of the Centre for Theatre and Performance.

The event provided a unique opportunity for current and graduating students to hear from top industry insiders about a range of issues including creating new work, casting, sustaining an identity within the industry and belonging to an artistic community. The exchange of ideas continued in the Malthouse foyer long into the evening. The event is an example of opportunities offered by the Monash – Malthouse partnership which begins its second year in 2016.  It also reinforces CTP’s reputation of engaging with the industry’s top practitioners and nurturing opportunities and industry pathways for our students.
