Cybec Electric 2017, as part of Asia_TOPA, was a series of readings of new works from some of Australia’s most exciting playwrights.
One of the playwrights that were featured is a recent graduate of Monash CTP, Natesha Somasundaram!
Natesha is a 21-year-old writer and actor based in Melbourne.
Her most recent works have been featured in the National Play Festival 2016, Melbourne Fringe Festival 2016 (Play for Australia) and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2015 (No Regerts).
She is currently a selected playwright for Playwriting Australia’s Lotus Playwriting Project development program, and has just completed her Bachelor of Performing Arts degree and is in the final throws of completing her law degree, both with Monash.
For Cybec Electric, Natesha’s latest work was read on stage at Southbank Theatre last week to a riveted audience
It was a reading of an excerpt of her (& two other playwrights) current work-in-development – hers is called ‘Entomology’.
“Being given the opportunity to dissect violence and intimacy – and cradle it within my comedy and share it with the world is still so surreal. It’s so incredible that other people are so excited about the new generation of theatre makers in Australia – and I’m so lucky to be considered part of it”, Natesha said.
Sensational work Natesha! You should be very proud of the work you are putting out there – we are of you!
