Photo of StudentStudying History was a highlight of Erin’s undergraduate degree, so the progression to Honours where she could specialise seemed a natural one.

Erin’s thesis is on children in the Lodz ghetto during the Holocaust. For one of her units she studied genocide and apartheid at Monash’s South Africa campus and in Rwanda.

“This was a momentous learning experience for me. We spoke to victims of war crime, visited genocide sites and learned a lot about Rwandan and South African culture,” says Erin.

Erin was also impressed with the depth of knowledge of the academics she travelled with and their international networks that provided them with unique learning experiences.
