Three members of the Faculty of Arts have received Future Fellowships from the Australian Research Council (ARC) in the latest round: Associate Professor Suzanne Fraser, Dr Catherine Mills, and Dr Alison Ross.
The Future Fellowships scheme attracts and retains the finest mid-career researchers to work on the big issues confronting the nation, across all areas of academic endeavour.
The Faculty of Arts now has 16 Future Fellows.
Faculty of Arts Future Fellowship research covers a broad range of topics, including: improved social and health outcomes in Australia; the ethics of human reproduction; decision-making processes; climate change; authenticity in the performing arts; war and memory in European culture; social inclusion; human mind in prediction; recognising Aborigines; policing the border.
Future Fellowships enable our researchers to build on experience and work intensively on a research programme which develops international and national research networks, deepen intellectual links between Australian researchers and those at the cutting edge abroad, and enhance our exchange with industry and community. They also provide Fellows with time to concentrate their energies on research leadership for Monash.
