Professor Jovan Teokarevic is professor of comparative politics in the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, Serbia. Before joining the University, he was research fellow at the Belgrade-‐based Institute for European Studies. He also teaches courses on EU-‐Balkans relations at the master programme of the University of Vienna, and for almost a decade taught on the Balkans at the NATO Defense College in Rome, and on EU foreign policy at the Diplomatic Academy of the Serbian Foreign Ministry.
Professor Teokarevic has rich experience in a great number of academic and policy-‐oriented projects, both as a participant and as a leader. Most recently he has become part of the EU FP7 project on media, conflicts and democratization (coordinator: University of Leeds). Since 2012 he has been Belgrade University coordinator of Interdisciplinary Master Programme in South East European Studies. In 2013 he founded the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Balkans, which he runs in the Faculty of Political Sciences.
Among almost 20 books he has published as author or editor, some of the most recent include: Democratizationand Europeanization of the Balkans (forthcoming inNovember); Transition and integration; Neither war norpeace: Serbian politics at the turn of centuries; The otherEurope from democratura to democracy.
