Dr. Scott Daniel Dunbar is the co-editor of the Journal of Religion and Popular Culture—the most prestigious academic journal on this topic—which explores religion’s myriad roles in pop culture and social media. Dunbar’s course “Religions in the Modern World” allows Monash students to investigate issues pertaining to manifestations of faith in film, television, music, advertising, sport, and social media, including the new phenomenon of “Religious Apps”. Offered in Semester 2 (2014), students are invited to discover how religion is changing in the modern world.
