Programs vary from semester to semester. Check the program details or contact the Arts Prato Coordinator for more details.
How many units can you take?
These are intensive units taught in 2 to 4 weeks so it must be considered it is a heavier workload in a shorter period of time than that of a 12 week semester unit. However, the way of learning is different and students thrive being immersed in the surroundings of beautiful Tuscany and further locations for the various study tours the Faculty of Arts offer.
For the Gallipoli/Prato program held in Winter Semester/Term 3 it is recommended that you take a maximum of 12 credit points for Prato based units in the same two week period, or a maximum of 18 credit points if including the Gallipoli tour OR Italian language class held the 2 weeks prior. We timetable the Prato units offered in this period to not clash so students can choose to take a combination of any of the unit offerings.
The other tour units that we offer are taken stand alone and can’t be combined with units held at the same time due to location and timetable clashes however students can certainly come back to Prato to complete further offerings held over other study periods.
For example: students can complete a 12 credit point tour unit in Summer A, up to 24 credit points from units in the Italian/Prato program in Summer B, up to 24 credit points from units in the Criminology/Prato program in First Semester and up to 18 credit points in Gallipoli/Prato program in Winter semester/Term 3. It is a fantastic way for students to combine study and be able to travel the world without adding time onto their degree. It certainly can be an international study experience of a lifetime.
