The Social Futures and Life Pathways (‘Our Lives’) Project is an ongoing research study that follows a large cohort of young Queenslanders from adolescence to later life. We aim to empirically investigate how young people think about their future and how they master their trajectories in a world of rapid change and uncertainty.
The 2017 Our Lives Survey (Wave 6) is currently underway!
If you are an Our Lives participant and have not received your personalised survey invitation, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone the survey hotline on 1800 113 444 (toll free on most mobiles).
In 2006, over 7,000 young people in 213 schools across Queensland participated in the first Our Lives survey during their first year of high school (aged 12/13). Thus far, four follow-up surveys and over 150 qualitative interviews have been conducted with members of the original cohort, now in their early twenties, generating a rich and valuable picture of how their attitudes, values and life pathways are developing.
