Italian Studies at the Monash Centre in Prato in Italy offers intensive language and culture courses and elective units. The intensive courses run during the summer and winter semesters allowing students to accelerate their study and gain credit towards their degree.
This opportunity is open to adventurous 2nd and 3rd year students (especially of Arts, BusEco and Science) students who are interested in travel to Europe and a guaranteed authentic Italian experience. No prior Italian language is required and beginners are welcome.
The Monash Centre in Prato is located in the heart of Tuscany, just outside Florence in southern Italy. Students can immerse themselves in local culture, art, amazing food and Italian hospitality.
Florence boasts some of the world’s best cuisine and the Uffizi art gallery is a must visit on any European travel itinerary containing some of the most priceless artworks in the world from the classic Italian art masters, including Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, Caravaggio’s Bacchus and The Ognissanti Madonna by Giotto.
