NCAS is delighted to announce the establishment of the China-Australia Research Network (CARN). The establishment of CARN and Fellowship program is funded by the Australia-China Council (part of the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade), with the support of the Australian Museum of Chinese-Australian History. The chief goal of the China-Australia Research Network is to increase understanding both of Australia in China and of Asia literacy among Australians. Its activities include a Fellowship program which enables three senior Chinese scholars of Australian Studies to undertake a three week research visit to Australia; events and public outreach including a public symposium at the Australian Museum of Chinese-Australian History; and a research Network which supports and develops links and collaboration between Chinese scholars of Australian Studies and Australian scholars.
