Gain an understanding of contemporary Australia while learning about study skills for your university career!
The unit introduces students to the nature of study and enquiry in the Arts Faculty through a study of Australia. Students will learn, discuss, practice and receive feedback on academic skills of reading, writing, communicating ideas in discussion, critique and analysis, academic argument, research and referencing and acquire library skills while at the same time learning about contemporary Australia.
Field trips are integrated into course content and include sites of cultural, political and historical significance such as the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Shrine of Remembrance and the Immigration Museum.
