Paul Grabowsky, Julien Wilson and Peter Knight finalists in 2015 APRA AMCOS Art Music Awards

ArtMusicAwards2015Finalists for the 2015 Art Music Awards have just been named, and we are pleased to announce that Professor Paul Grabowsky has been selected as finalist in the category Jazz Work of the Year for his work ‘Love Like a Curse’, performed by our very own Monash Art Ensemble.

The 2015 finalists encased an impressive line-up of artists, creators and craftsmen, including Paul Stanhope, Carl Vine, Elena Kats-Chernin, Brett Dean and our own Professor Paul Grabowsky. Professor Grabowsky is also a finalist in the category Instrumental Work of the Year for his composition ‘The Nightingale and the Rose’, performed by himself alongside recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey and the Flinders Quartet.

The finalists for the Award for Excellence in Jazz include sessional staff member Julien Wilson, and Monash Art Ensemble member and Director of the Australian Art Orchestra, Peter Knight.

Winners will be announced at the 2015 Art Music Awards on Tuesday August 11 at the City Recital Hall in Sydney.
