Promotion success by MFJ academics

The School of Media Film and Journalism extends its congratulations to Fay Anderson and Therese Davis for their promotion to Associate Professor – Level D – in the latest promotions round.

Dr Anderson is the author of two books, Witnesses to War: The History of Australian Conflict Reporting (2011, co-authored with Richard Trembath) and Max Crawford: An Historian’s Life and the Limits of Academic Freedom (2005) and has also published widely on media history, genocide, photography, biography, memory, television, violence and Australian history.

The Face on the Screen by Dr Therese Davis

Dr Davis is the co-author of the widely referenced Australian Cinema After Mabo (CUP, 2004). She is also the author of The Face on the Screen: Death, Recognition and Spectatorship (Intellect, 2004) and has published widely in film studies including Australian national cinema, gender and race in film and television, theories of collaboration and cross-cultural exchange in film, Australian Indigenous media and women’s filmmaking.
