Malthouse Theatre’s Picnic at Hanging Rock

Associate Professor of Film and Screen Studies Belinda Smaill will participate in a panel, run by Monash’s Centre for Theatre and Performance, to coincide with Malthouse Theatre’s  adaptation of Joan Lindsay’s iconic Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Commenting on Picnic at Hanging Rock’s enduring legacy, the panel will include Helen Morse (star of the famous 1975 film), Associate Professor Belinda Smaill (expert on Australian film and gender), Terence O Neill (Joan Lindsay’s bibliographer) and Artistic Director of Malthouse, Matt Lutton, and will be hosted by Centre for Theatre and Performance’s Director, Assoc Prof Jane Montgomery Griffiths.
