Welcome to the School of Media, Film and Journalism (MFJ) in the Faculty of Arts at Monash University.
While most of them are undergraduate students, our three Masters courses continue to grow by attracting both domestic and international students.
We also have a vibrant community of doctoral students completing their PhD studies within the Film, Media and Communication program.
The School of MFJ is located at Monash University’s Caulfield campus, only a short train ride from Melbourne CBD.
The school features the Monash Media Lab, which has a full suite of news studios and digital media production spaces, and puts MFJ at the forefront of teaching about the impact of the digital revolution.
This cutting-edge facility provides our students with a highly professional environment where they can learn digital media production and communication skills needed in the 21st century.
Our students graduate with a broad range of communication skills, critical thinking skills and agility that equip them to participate and thrive in a fast-changing world.
The School of MFJ attracts outstanding staff and students because it combines contemporary media practices with the world-class research environment of a prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) university.
The approach of combining an excellent research culture with practical skills means our students are competitive when they graduate from us.
I invite you to explore this website where you’ll find information and news about our courses, our staff and students.
You’ll find testimonials from our students and examples of their work.
