Welcome to the School of Media, Film and Journalism (MFJ) in the Faculty of Arts at Monash University.

The school was formed in 2014 and it’s the home of Communication and Media Studies, Film and Screen Studies, Journalism and the Academic and Professional Writing unit.

The School of MFJ is located at Caulfield campus, only a short train ride from Melbourne CBD.

The school will house a new media and broadcast centre, which is being built in 2015.

Our school attracts outstanding and award-winning staff and students by combining cutting-edge media practices with the world-class research environment of a prestigious Group of Eight (Go8) university.

Our students graduate with a broad range of communication skills, critical thinking skills and agility that equip them to participate and thrive in a fast-changing world.

The approach of combining an excellent research culture with practical skills means our students are competitive when they graduate from us.

I invite you to explore this website where you’ll find information and news about our courses, our staff and students.

You’ll find testimonials from our students and examples of their work.
