Guy Geltner to Visit CMRS

We’re very pleased to announce that Guy Geltner, Professor of Medieval History at The University of Amsterdam, will be visiting the CMRS as a Faculty of Arts Distinguished Visiting Scholar between 4 – 17 August 2012. Professor Geltner’s research interests include urban history, histories of deviance, crime and punishment, and most recently, histories of public health. A vibrant program of activities is planned, including a public lecture, a student workshop on medieval legal records, and a seminar in the History Department series.

All are welcome to attend the public lecture, Healthscaping a medieval City: Lucca’s Curia viarum and the future of public health history, on Tuesday 7 August, H237, Level 2, Building H, Caulfield Campus (5:45pm – 7:30pm). The lecture will be followed by refreshments.
