Monash University is hosting Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Chairperson, National League for Democracy (NLD) party in Burma (Myanmar).
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will deliver a public lecture, Reconciliation and the Rule of Law, followed by Q&A with the audience.
In her political career, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has been a determined advocate for democracy, dignity and human rights for the people of Burma. She spent decades under house arrest until her release in 2010. For her non-violent campaign, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991.
