From the MAI Director’s Desk

On 22 September, we successfully held the inaugural seminar of “From Asia Literacy to Australia Literacy”. The video of the seminar is now accessible, please watch it if you were not at the event. Also successfully held was the 7th Asian Translation Traditions Conference at Monash Malaysia campus. Participants thoroughly enjoyed great talks and inspiring discussions in these two events. There will be many stimulating seminars in October too. Issues to be discussed include Chinese tourists; Asia literacy and education; an Indonesian best-selling novel; South Asian diasporic mediations; and religious, cultural and political issues in Iran, Syria and Afghanistan. Japanese Studies Centre will hold a two-day conference in celebration on the 50th anniversary of the teaching program in Japanese Studies at Monash University.

Please check the details of all events in this bulletin and MAI webpage!
