Postgraduate Research Forum on Asia-Pacific (PRFAP)

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Postgraduate Research Forum on Asia-Pacific (PRFAP) with the support of Monash Asia Institute and Arts Research Graduate School. PRFPAP aims to discuss, exchange and share research findings and experiences with fellow postgraduate students across disciplines, faculties, campuses and regions of investigation. PRFAP offers a platform for postgraduate students to nurture a collaborative research culture within Monash by bringing together a multidisciplinary community of researchers to stimulate intellectual discussion, mutually support research activities and academic training, and understand the Asia-Pacific (including Australia) as a research context.

We would encourage students and researchers/supervisors from various disciplines and Ph.D. programs to participate in the forum. In each session, an individual or group of students will deliver a seminar on their research topic and research activities related to Asia-Pacific regions. Please send your expression-of-interest in participating in and/or making a presentation at PRFAP by email to the Conveners, including research topic and preferred presentation dates as well as name, program/faculty, phone number/email. In the event that there are students working on similar topics, we may organize a panel discussion on a thematic area. We are also planning to organize a session in which students discuss problems and difficulties they commonly face when conducting fieldwork and writing up a thesis.

The forum will kick-off on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 12-1PM at the Monash Asia Institute Seminar Room, H5.95, Caulfield Campus. Light refreshments will be served for all registered participants.

The proposed schedule for Semester 1, 2013 will be:  March 20, April 17, May 1, 15, & 29 and June 12 & 26. The schedule will be updated in the websites of Monash Asia Institute and Arts Research Graduate School as well as PRFAP Facebook Page.
