Invitation to NAEEMA JIHAN ZINIA PhD Confirmation Seminar

Zinia is a PhD candidate supervised by Dr Paul McShane (MSI) and Professor Mike Ward (Bus/Eco). Her interdisciplinary research on green adaptation to ecosystem services management addresses current challenges in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh, a city struggling with demography, poverty, and climate change. She is assessing the integrated impacts of climate and land-use change using outcomes of environmental and economic modelling to identify economically feasible and sociallyacceptable green strategies for managing ecosystem services in urban and peri-urban settings. Before starting her doctoral studies at MSI, Zinia worked as a researcher at the Center for Environmental and Geographic Information Services in Dhaka. She holds Bachelor and Masters of Social Sciences degrees from the University of Dhaka and a Masters of Science degree in Urban Environmental Management from Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
