The Edith Lahr Bequest Grant for research related to Linguistics/Applied Linguistics

Field Research Support and Travel Grants are open to application from students whose research is related to Linguistics/Applied Linguistics and need funding for their field research or conference travel.

Deadlines: 

  • Applications will be accepted throughout the year.

Conditions:

Awards may be granted for fieldwork and/or travel to conferences at which the student is presenting a paper.

Students applying for support with fieldwork expenses should prepare a plan outlining their proposed fieldwork activities and budget in consultation with their supervisor.

Any student applying to attend a conference should submit a plan demonstrating how the conference paper will result in a refereed, DIISR-reportable publication.

Doctoral students must consult section 4.3 Studying away from the University in the Doctoral and MPhil Handbook, and Masters students must consult chapter 5 of the Survival Guide, before applying to ensure that they meet all requirements concerning Study Away, travel approval and travel insurance.

Value: 

  • Assessed on a case-by-case basis, normally up to $2000.
