Application procedures and deadlines

Maximum credit points overseas

The Faculty of Arts allows students to study 24 Monash credit points toward a major overseas.

In certain circumstances, students may study 30 Monash credits (or 42 for an extended major) toward a language major overseas. However, they must complete their cornerstone and capstone units at Monash.

Grade conversions for language units on exchange

Students studying languages on a Monash exchange program will receive a mark and standard final grade (HD, D, C etc) for the units they undertake with the host institution.

Exchange and Study Abroad unit codes

As of Semester 1, 2016, the following codes will be used for overseas programs:

Arts Exchange Units – AEH code
For students who do not pay tuition fees at the host institution
Eg. AEH1000 (level 1) to AEH5000 (Masters)

Arts Language Exchange Units – AEX code
For students who do not pay tuition fees at the host institution and who are studying exchange units toward a language major or minor
Eg. AEX1000 (level 1) to AEX5000 (Masters)

Arts Study Abroad Units – ASA code
For students who pay tuition fees at the host institution
Eg. ASA1000 (level 1) to ASA5000 (Masters)
