Can a computer write poetry? Oscar Schwartz presents at TEDxYouth Sydney

Earlier this year, Oscar Schwartz presented a TEDxYouth@Sydney talk on his PhD research exploring the impact of computer-generated poetry on our understanding of poetry and what it means to be human.

Oscar is currently undertaking a PhD in the Literary and Cultural Studies program, supervised by Professor Andrew Benjamin and Dr Anna Poletti.

He also won this year’s The Lifted Brow Prize for Experimental Non-Fiction with a piece ‘Humans Pretending to be Computers Pretending to be Human’.

You can test your skills detecting human and computer poetry at Oscar’s bot or not website.
