C1+ Spanish and Latin American Studies In ATS3198, I can understand complex discussions on questions surrounding translation theory. I can understand unstructured discussion on complex topics. In ATS3198, I can read very advanced analytical language parallel texts (250-500 words in Spanish) for the purposes on analysing for the translation process. These texts can be from a range of subject areas such as current affairs, health reports, political texts, business texts. In ATS3198, I am able to participate in complex debates about theoretical issues in translation studies. I actively participate in regular group discussions on the processes used to translate a particular text. In ATS3198, I am developing advanced expository and argumentation skills in the context of oral presentations that deal with contemporary issues in translation studies. In ATS3198, I am able to translate a variety of sophisticated texts that contain a range of specialised vocabulary. I can do this using a diverse range of registers. I can also show developed critical and analytical skills in essay form.
