B1 CEFR I can understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. I can understand the main point of many radio or TV programmes on current affairs or topics of personal or professional interest when the delivery is relatively slow and clear. I can understand texts that consist mainly of high frequency everyday or job-related language. I can understand the description of events, feelings and wishes in personal letters. I can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. I can enter unprepared into conversation on topics that are familiar, of personal interest or pertinent to everyday life (e.g. family, hobbies, work, travel and current events). I can connect phrases in a simple way in order to describe experiences and events, my dreams, hopes & ambitions. I can briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. I can narrate a story or relate the plot of a book or film and describe my reactions. I can write straightforward connected text on topics, which are familiar, or of personal interest.
B1+ Spanish and Latin American Studies In ATS2195/3195, I have global understanding of authentic audio file with optional subtitles (5-15 min). At the end of the semester, I am able to answer to questions related to the authentic audio document.  In ATS2195/3195, I am practicing  reading, understanding and analysis of authentic texts (e.g. newspaper articles, short stories, plays, 400-800 words).I can identify key grammatical structures and analysis of use. In ATS2195/3195, I am doing  role play based on the audio material studied in class. I can participate actively in group discussions and small group talks. In ATS2195/3195, I am working on the expression of a point  view. I am able to apply acquired vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. I am improving pronunciation, word stress and tone to speak more fluently. In ATS2195/3195, I am working on the fluency and accuracy in expression on a selected range of topics. I amconsolidating  my abilities in descriptive, narrative, argumentative and expository essays. I can apply the key grammatical structures. At the end of the semester, I am able to express of a point a view in a short essay (200  words).
B1 Spanish and Latin American Studies In ATS2194, I can listen to and have a rather comprehensive understanding of video and audio files on a wide range of specific topics discussed in the class. I can grasp a general meaning of short films in Spanish on a variety of topics. I can follow the classes in Spanish and I understand the contents, despite not being able to understand every word.I can successfully complete the listening comprehension test at the end of the semester. In ATS2194, I can read and understand real (newspaper articles, magazines, etc) texts up to 600 words. I can read and grasp the general meaning of narrative and descriptive texts up to 2000 words, despite not understanding the meaning of some specific of technical vocabulary In ATS2194, I can discuss familiar topics related to personal interests or everyday life. I can also discuss some specific social and political selected topics dealt with in the classroom. I can answer questions related to the topics above and can participate in the students’ role-plays in a nuanced way. In ATS2194, I can converse about myself, current affairs and most general topics that do not require a much specialised vocabulary.I can perform an exposition or argumentation for 25 minutes on a topic previously prepared. In ATS2194, I can write compositions (1500 words) and comfortably use all the most common grammar structures in Spanish, with the eventual use of a dictionary and a reference grammar. In ATS2194, I can write personal and formal letters and emails discussing personal experiences in past and present and future plans to a sufficient level of proficiency.
