B2+Italian Studies In  ATS3228, I watch and understand films in standard language. I am able to recognize colloquial expressions. In ATS3228, I understand informal and formal correspondence , advertisements, product information and instructions. I can read newspaper articles on current affairs or social issues using strategies such as skimming and scanning.At the end of the semester, I can understand a newspaper article or an interview (500-600 words) on a familiar issue without the help of a dictionary and can understand in detail an excerpt of similar length from a literary text I have studied. In  ATS3228, I take part in discussions  on familiar topics. I am able to conduct interviews and talking on the telephone. I can describe thoughts and feelings and discuss the content of a newspaper article or of a short story in an oral exam lasting 10-15 minutes. In ATS3228, I am able to report opposing views and presenting arguments in debates. I can present a current topic or a literary text as part of the oral exam. In ATS3228, I can write summaries, formal letters, short essays, advertisements or  short analytical critiques. At the end of the semester, I am able to write coherent and cohesive analytical texts (350-400 words) in appropriate style.
B2 Italian Studies In ATS3227, I am able to follow conversations  and lectures about a familiar topic. I can understand TV / radio news programs and talk shows. In ATS3227, I understand articles about contemporary issues and literary texts and my reading is gradually directed towards critical analysis. I can recognize different viewpoints.At the end of the semester, without the help of a dictionary, I can understand a newspaper article or an interview (400-500 words) related to a topic previously dealt with. In ATS3227, I am able to express ideas and assumptions. I am justifying opinions and giving advice. In ATS3227, I do short presentations. I can express ideas and assumptions. I’m improving fluency and expanding vocabulary. At the end of the semester, I am able to prepare a 5-minute presentation based on one of the study material. In ATS3227, I am able to compile complex questionnaires or forms. I can write clear and detailed instructions. I am able to describe thoughts and feelings in correspondence. I can write descriptive or expository texts on current issues (300 words).
