A1 CEFR I can recognise familiar words and very basic phrases concerning myself, my family and immediate concrete surroundings when people speak slowly and clearly. I can understand familiar names, words and very simple sentences, for example on notices and posters or in catalogues. I can interact in a simple way provided the other person is prepared to repeat or rephrase things at a slower rate of speech and help me formulate what I’m trying to say. I can ask and answer simple questions in areas of immediate need or on very familiar topics. I can write simple phrases and isolated sentences. I can use simple phrases and sentences to describe where I live and people I know.
A1+ Italian Studies In ATS1222, I listen to simple dialogues, listing things and concepts connected to every day life. In ATS1222, I am following short and simple directions and can understand  short texts (e.g. menus, registration forms, simple texts) and will be assessed on that. In ATS1222, I am conducting simple dialogs, in an informal way, related to everyday situations (ordering food, shopping…). In ATS1222, I am improving my ability to describe a daily routine, a typical day. I am able to negate or confirm statements and to express likes and preferences. At the end of the semester, I am able to do a 5 minute individual oral presentation on topics related to my life. In ATS1222, I am able to fill out hotel registrations forms, or state personal details. At the end of the semester, I can write a short text of 100/150 words in length about a topic studied during the semester.
A1 Italian Studies In ATS1221, I am trained to listen to the alphabet, numbers and simple texts.

A short conversation will be part of an assessed listening comprehension task.

In ATS1221, I am prepared to read and understand simple dialogs or short texts with the help of images and will be assessed on that. In ATS1221, I can introduce myself in simple sentences and can describe familiar things (my house, my holidays…). In ATS1221, I am able to describe myself, family, friends, and place of living. In ATS1221, I can write simple letters, emails, postcards, or shopping lists. At the end of the semester, I a able to write a short text of 80/100 words in length about a topic studied during the semester.
