A2 CEFR I can understand phrases and the highest frequency vocabulary related to areas of most immediate personal relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). I can catch the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements. I can read very short, simple texts. I can find specific, predictable information in simple everyday material such as advertisements, prospectuses, menus and timetables and I can understand short simple personal letters. I can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities. I can handle very short social exchanges, even though I can’t usually understand enough to keep the conversation going myself. I can use a series of phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms my family and other people, living conditions, my educational background and my present or most recent job. I can write a series of simple phrases and sentences linked with simple connections like ‘ and’, ‘ but’ , and ‘because’.
A2 Chinese Studies In ATS2004, I am improving my ability to listen and globally understand authentic sentences, short dialogues and passages and to answer related questions in the end of semester listening test. In ATS2004, I am reading simple texts written in a more formal style and am able to extract simple, relevant information. I will be able to recognise more than 900 Chinese characters by the end of the unit. In ATS2004, I can handle short social exchanges based on role play. For the final exam, I have to interact for 5 min on a topic prepared during 2 min. In ATS2004, I will be able to make a 5 min presentation on a prepared topic such as family, education experience, jobs, books, which will be a part of the final oral exam. In ATS2004, by continuing the writing and translation practice begun in ATS2003 I am improving my ability to produce more complex compound sentences on textbook related themes in a vernacular style incorporating a degree of coherence and connectivity. I am required to write a composition of 200 Chinese characters drawn from these topics in the final exam.
A2- Chinese Studies In ATS2003, I am working to listen and globally understand simple sentences, short dialogues and passages. I am prepared for the listening test in which I have to answer several related questions. In ATS2003, I am reading simple vernacular texts on everyday life and will be able to recognise more than 700 Chinese characters by the end of the unit. In ATS2003, I am improving my ability to interact through role play on prepared topics.
At the end of the semester, I am able to present for 5 min on a topic prepared during 2 min.
In ATS2003, I am able to talk on familiar topics such as family, hobbies, travel and my environment, on which I will be required to make a 5 min presentation during the final oral exam. In ATS2003, I am working on the translation of simple sentences and short composition of 100 Chinese characters on textbook-related topics. I am required to write a composition of 200 Chinese characters drawn from these topics in the final exam.
