Journalism involves thorough research and accurate reporting in service of the public right to know. It is concerned with truth and relevance, and is a fundamental component of a healthy democratic society. Monash Journalism staff and students work and report on their communities:
- at the local level around our campuses in Melbourne, in Gippsland, Malaysia and South Africa
- nationally with partner universities in Sydney, Perth and Hobart
- internationally with partner universities and professional organisations in Europe, Asia and North America.
We promote strong engagement with our communities to report without fear or favour on the issues and events that are important to them, and hold ourselves accountable to them for the accuracy, relevance and fairness of our work.
