Staff Associated with the Communication and Media Studies program:

Associate Professor Mark Gibson, Program Coordinator, has more than 20 years experience in teaching and research in five Australian states and territories, and is editor of a leading journal in the field, Continuum. He has also played a prominent role in the Australian and New Zealand Communication Association, Cultural Studies Association of Australasia and the Australian Research Council Cultural Research Network.

 

 

Dr Tony Moore, Director of the National Centre for Australian Studies, worked extensively in television and publishing prior to teaching in the program. He has a strong record in published scholarly research and contributes regularly to the formation of Australian media and cultural policy. Dr Moore remains a television and print-based media commentator with strong, established industry networks.

 

 

Dr Jinna Tay’s post-doctoral research examined the geo-linguistic Chinese television markets of Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Singapore as part of a prestigious Australian Research Council Federation Fellowship. Dr Tay is widely published in the areas of Asian transnational television systems, fashion journalism, and creative cities in Asia.
