For example, the Australian Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) estimates that internet publishing and broadcasting will grow by more than 18% from 2011 to 2015-16, and that advertising services will grow by 24%.

I completed my study in 2010 after receiving the Australian Leadership Awards 2009-2010. Having a Masters degree in Communications and Media Studies from Monash gave me knowledge to work in the field of broadcasting and communications. Furthermore, through an internship program in ABC Asia Pacific Centre in Melbourne, I was fortunate to experience an international working environment. Now, I work as News Anchor at SCTV, one of Indonesia’s Best Television Stations and serve as the Environment Ambassador of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Master of Communications and Media Studies truly enabled me to expand my knowledge across the media landscape, both nationally and internationally. The postgraduate degree was a great stepping stone in allowing me to successfully land a position in Telstra’s Internal Corporate Communications Team. More recently, I was promoted to a Brand Marketing Manager, having the ability to work on exciting advertising campaigns with many key media agencies. I have had the opportunity to practically apply the knowledge I’ve attained into a working environment across media, communications, advertising, PR, marketing and social media.

My journey at Monash was a fantastic one. I chose to study the Masters in Communication and Media Studies purely based on my own interests, and a wish to work for a media related industry. It was a great experience because not only have I learnt a lot from my lecturers over the 1.5 years, it has also pointed me the right direction to fulfil my dreams. Presently I am working for a media research company, and I am happy at where I am.
