Background: The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) is established under the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 1998 (the Act) and began operations on 1 July 1998, amalgamating 15 boards and tribunals to offer a ‘one-stop shop’ dealing with a range of disputes.

Since its inception, VCAT’s purpose has been to provide Victorians with a low cost,accessible, efficient and independent tribunal delivering high quality dispute resolution. Title

Communications Intern

Brief description

VCAT’s Strategic Communications team provides a range of communications services to the organisation, including developing strategies, media management, supporting events and internal communications.

Role of Student

  •  Prepare content for our electronic internal newsletter, help organise and promote public and internal events, create online surveys, research media requests, maintain media and stakeholder lists
  • With support from VCAT’s communications team, identify and implement improvements for the VCAT intranet
  •  Support the project administration for the launch of new VCAT videos in February 2017
  • Communications and administrative planning support for Courts Open Day webinars, to be held in May 2017.
  • Assist with developing a communications plan and draft relevant content.

Timing and duration

Commencing in summer Mid-November 2016 interns are required to do a minimum 144 hours.  Days of work are negotiable.

Eligibility

  1. You should meet the eligibility criteria for, and be able to enrol in ATS3129 Arts Internship (completed 96 CP and have a distinction average).
  2. You should have checked with Arts Student Services to ensure you have room in your degree for this 12 CP unit.
