About the Internship
Starting Date: Flexible
Duration: Minimum 1 month to Maximum 3 month
Required days: 10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday – Friday (with some flexibility)
Your role will primarily be based within the Social Media department. Your main areas of engagement will be to deliver effective social media campaigns relevant to Suara.com and to source video interviews from everyday people. If your skill level permits, you can also be involved in the editing and final production of any video material gathered.
In this position, your general responsibilities may include:
• Working with the Social Media department at Suara to manage social media accounts and deliver effective social media campaigns;
• Monitoring and posting on forums, blogs, and other social networks;
• Increasing traffic to the organisation’s social media accounts;
• Conducting any relevant research for your department;
• Attending relevant events with partner organisations to promote the activities of Suara.com;
• Participating in a video journalism project that will include interviewing members of the public about current issues in Indonesia. This project will require you to use your Indonesian language skills; and
• If your skill level permits, you can also be involved in the editing and final production of any video material gathered.
An intermediate level of Indonesian is required. You should have the ability to participate in conversational Indonesian and write to a basic level. English is also required.
You should be proactive and have a strong interest in Indonesian culture, with a desire to become immersed in the culture during your internship. You are encouraged to bring your own laptop to this internship.
The fee charged by International Internships (Service Provider) is in addition to the tuition fees for the unit. Accommodation and in country support packages are optional but highly recommended.
Travel insurance is provided by Monash University. It will cover you for personal travel prior to and after your overseas program, and includes access to 24-hour a day medical and emergency assist services.
