Program Support Intern at International Internships, Jakarta

Background: International Internships has been facilitating internships for Australian and international students in Indonesia for over 10 years, but the last three years have seen it grow and change immensely. We now work with a number of universities in Australia and Indonesia to facilitate internships, study intensives and unit-based programs in Indonesia and Malaysia, along with career mentoring, professional skills development, cross-cultural communication and language training. Our programs are based around the belief that international study and work experiences should be unfiltered and real, with the right support to keep students safe, happy and experiencing everything to its maximum.

Project objective / key areas of engagement:

You will be working closely with International Internship’s Indonesia team and will have a lot of contact with our partners in Indonesia, which include universities, business councils, companies and not-for-profits. International Internships will facilitate a number of programs during the 2016-17 Australian summer break and most of the work taking place during your internship will be to prepare for these. The nature of this work is quite varied and you will typically be undertaking a number of tasks simultaneously.

Likely tasks / description of role:

Typical tasks include:

·     Helping organise events, such as guest speakers, weekend trips, networking events and more

·     Working with International Internships’ partner companies to help place applicants in suitable internship sites

·     Preparing documents to be presented to International Internships’ customers

·     Arranging the logistics to help make the programs run smoothly. This can involve everything from booking buses and accommodation to printing name tags to buying gifts for guest speakers

·     Researching areas of interest for International Internships. This could be for grant opportunities, new partners or almost anything else that is of interest at the time.

·     Posting on International Internships’ social media

Expected work hours:

9:00am – 5:00pm, Mon – Fri, with some flexibility


Living allowance of 4 million Rupiah (approx 400 AUD) per month. This is roughly equivalent to an Indonesian graduate salary.

Dress Required:

Business attire will be required on most days.

Language abilities:

Only English language is required, although Indonesian will be useful

  • New Colombo Plan Scholarship worth $3,000 each

To be eligible for scholarships you must be:

  • An Australian citizen
  • Enrolled as an undergraduate student

All students will be eligible for additional $900 Monash Abroad Travel bursary plus travel insurance.

Domestic students may be eligible for interest free government loan (like HECS) of upto $7,500 through OS-HELP.
