About the Internship
Starting Date: Flexible
Duration: Minimum 4 weeks to Maximum 16 weeks
Required days: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday, with some flexibility, as expected attendance at weekend events may occur.

Interns will participate in the day-to-day activities within any of the following divisions: Public Services; Public Finance; and Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection. The main areas of engagement for the intern will revolve around their understanding of the key areas of the assigned division. The key objective of the internship will be to carry out hands-on tasks in the community and/or to use their relevant knowledge and skills to help prepare communications documents and reports for internal use or publication.

Role Description:
Your role will be as an Advocacy and Research intern. In this position your general responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assisting with conducting research and developing strategies for raising awareness of key issues
  • Assisting with carrying out field projects
  • Writing and editing reports and other communications documents, including educational materials
  • Helping to organise events, workshops and training sessions
  • Attending relevant events and meetings

Other requirements 
Only English language skills required. Some Indonesian would be useful, but are not required for this internship.

To be effective in this position you should be passionate about everything that PATTIRO works hard to achieve. Therefore, please ensure that you read their website thoroughly before applying. You should also be willing to embrace Indonesian culture and adopt a local way of working and achieving the objectives.

You will likely be required to have a Skype interview as part of the application process.

Cost: The fee charged by International Internships (Service Provider) is in addition to the tuition fees for the unit. Accommodation and in country support packages are optional but highly recommended.

Travel insurance is provided by Monash University. It will cover you for personal travel prior to and after your overseas program, and includes access to 24-hour a day medical and emergency assist services.
