Internship Project with MWorld: Educational App

Monash University is currently undertaking an exciting project to make available quality, trusted content to children in a digital environment.  Known as ‘MWorld’ the project is developing tablet-based digital educational content targeted at 9-13 year old.  It builds off the power of the university’s extensive range of content, and translates it into fun, engaging educational materials – built into a game context.  The product is designed for a global audience, and one of its key differentiators is the diversity of its content.

The product in first release covers ten areas of universal appeal and education value including such areas as: the Natural World, the Wonders of Science and the Human Body.. The initial launch will consist of 60 titles each containing a 30-40 sec animated video that sets the scene, and a story told in four parts and covering approx 20 screens of content in total.  Each title also includes embedded games and quizzes.

The vibe is engaging, fresh, and colourful.  The content is stunning in the visuals, interesting and not at all dumbed down.  It’s designed to appeal to children’s sense of curiosity and wonder.

The current timeline will see the first release occurring some time in March 2014.
