Monash Sustainable Development Institute – RISE program – Communications Internship

MSDI is one of the world’s leading interdisciplinary research and education institutions for sustainable development. In partnership with Monash University and the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities, and alongside a consortium of international institutions, MSDI is leading a new program – Revitalising Informal Settlements and their Environments (RISE).

RISE is a global, interdisciplinary program hoping to improve the lives of over a billion people living in urban slums by establishing essential water services and cleaning up the environment.

RISE is seeking an experienced content producer, passionate about sustainable development, to produce monthly vlogs using raw footage shot by the project team. Full credit will be given to the intern for each vlog, and there is potential for the role to expand to other content creation.

Internship: Content Producer/Videographer
Intake: Semester 1
Eligible students: MA Media and Communications, MA Environmental Management and Sustainability, MA International Development Practice.

The intern will have the opportunity to further develop existing videography and content creation skills while working alongside one of the leading interdisciplinary research and education institutes for sustainable development globally. They will gain access to incredible minds across a range of disciplines and contribute to a world first project with the potential to change the lives of over a billion people.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Creating engaging, authentic video content using raw footage for use within an e-newsletter and across social media platforms.
  • Story boarding and content design, alongside the RISE Communications Officer.

Selection Criteria

A natural storyteller with high attention to detail, experienced in all aspects of video production from pre-production, to production and post-production.
Passion for sustainable development, with a depth of understanding about the Sustainable Development Goals.
Ability to collaborate with the team while also working independently.
