About the Organisation
The Yulendj Indigenous Engagement Unit supports Indigenous students and staff in their education and employment aspirations. Yulendj actively recruits Indigenous staff and students, and provides strategic advice to the University on Indigenous matters. Our Elder-in-Residence, Aunty Diane Singh, sits within the Unit, and we provide executive support to the Indigenous Advisory Council. Located on the Clayton campus, Yulendj provides tutorial and study spaces for students, and a multi-purpose lounge.

About the Internship
Starting Date: Winter (19 June 2017)
Duration: 144hrs min
Required days: 1-2 days a week

Role Description:
Our need is for a Communications/Media Studies student, who can establish and manage a communications strategy for our Unit, mainly to promote good news stories on the work of Yulendj, and staff/student successes.

The reach will be internal and external, including;

-The Insider
-Alumni news
-Yulendj Facebook page (and establishing other social media platforms)
-Koorie Mail
-Mainstream media channels

The role of the undergraduate will be to assist in the drafting of the comms strategy and to handle the Facebook page, and establish other social media platforms.
