The International Studies Team

IMG_0171Welcome to International Studies. My name is Susie Protschky, and I am the Director of this large and popular major in the Arts Faculty. I like to give students the tools to understand their world. For me, this is an important step towards becoming an informed, articulate global citizen, and this is the aim of the International Studies major.

At Monash, International Studies units are taught by dynamic and engaged staff members who specialise in a broad range of areas. Our staff have studied and worked around the world, at universities in Asia, Africa, Europe, America and of course Australia. They work on Europe, modern Southeast Asia, the history of medicine, gender and international development, the development of the modern multi-national corporation, legacies of war in the Asian region, and the integration of the USSR into a pan-European and global narrative. See a full list of International Studies staff and their research interests below.
