The Film, Media and Communications program brings together some of Australia’s leading researchers in film, television, communication, media studies, journalism and journalism studies. It is also supported by more specialist contributions from researchers in others disciplines across the Faculty of Arts. The range of potential topics in the area is extensive, from the effects of digital media on globalisation to indigenous film and new forms of journalism. There is also, within the program, a practice-based PhD in journalism. Candidates have the opportunity to draw on supervision expertise from across the faculty, working from a variety of theoretical perspectives. This program is well suited to part-time and external candidates.
