Early Modern Diplomacy – A Collection of Resources

The goal of this site is to collect together a range of resources related to the broad topic of early modern diplomacy.  It can serve as a basis for a research exercise or as a component for a course.

The resources are grouped together into six broad categories:

Primary Sources
Diaries, writings, letters and other materials related to embassies and ambassadors.

Images of embassies, gifts and diplomatic encounters.

Secondary sources
Scholarly accounts of the importance of diplomacy in the early modern world.

Multimedia resources focused on key topics in early modern diplomacy.
