Fellowship for current PhD student

Daniel James

PhD student and archaeologist Daniel James from Monash University’s School of Geography and Environmental Science has been awarded the 2012 George Chaloupka Fellowship, an initiative of the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT (MAGNT) Foundation, which is sponsored by Energy Resources of Australia. The support of ERA is gratefully acknowledged. The Fellowship provides support for research into Indigenous rock art in the Northern Territory, with the aim of enhancing both the understanding of the art and the role of the MAGNT as a major institution in this field. The $28,000 award will support Daniel’s research project entitled ‘Stories that resonate through time: the rock-art of the Little Barra rock shelter’.
