The Research Unit in Film Culture and Theory is associated with the Film and Screen Studies program at Monash University, one of the largest stand-alone film studies programs in Australia. Members of RUFCT hold a strong interest in World Cinema, documentary, women’s cinema, Australian cinema, Asian cinema, film remakes and seriality, film aesthetics and intellectual histories. From the first silent films through to YouTube, we contribute to a body of research at the vanguard of film theory, criticism, history and culture.
