Melbourne Opera has assembled a top cast featuring
David Gould as Sir Joseph Porter KCB;
Claire Lyon as his reluctant love interest Josephine;
David Rogers-Smith as the well loved Captain Corcoran;
Paul Biencourt as the charming sailor Ralph Rackstraw;
Andrea Creighton as the mysterious Little Buttercup,
and Roger Howell as the vile Dick Deadeye.

This is the first professional G&S production in over 10 years and features Sullivan’s most timeless hits, including ‘Never mind the Why and Wherefore’; ‘When I was a lad’; ‘I am the Captain of the Pinafore’ and ‘I’m called Little Buttercup’.

‘H.M.S. Pinafore’ is directed by Robert Ray, the eminent G&S specialist and international choreographer. The witty designs are by Greg Carroll and the sailors, sisters and cousins and aunts of the Melbourne Opera Chorus and Orchestra are conducted by Raymond Lawrence.
