Who are those guys?
The Film and Screen Studies Film Society presents Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), George Roy Hill’s hit western starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman as two outlaws on the run. Based loosely on a true story, the film follows the pair through a string of train robberies, bank robberies, knife fights and narrow escapes from Wyoming to Bolivia. Katharine Ross plays love interest Etta Place, but the central emotional relationship in this classic buddy film is between the two leads: Newman and Redford’s chemistry, wisecracks and partnership, right up to their iconic final blaze of glory, is the heart of the picture.
