Public Lecture by Professor Anthony Seeger of University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA)

ABSTRACT:

What do we need for the desert islands we may live on in the future?  Diverse crops, diverse histories, and an ethic of sharing and understanding.  This talk argues that archives and seed banks are not as much about storing the past as creating important resources for our uncertain future, and proposes an archival approach to eco-musicology.

Chair: Professor David Griggs, Director, Monash Sustainability Institute
