Monash Arts is calling on prospective 2014 second and third-year students to mentor new first-year students with the Peers Ambassadors Leaders (PAL) Program.
PAL wants you!
The PAL Program is designed to offer new Monash Arts students an easier transition into Monash student life.
As a 2014 second and third-year student with great knowledge of student life at Monash, the PAL Program gives you the opportunity to provide mentorship, support and guidance to new students.
The benefits of PAL: Being a mentor counts
Being a mentor is a great way of meeting new people and sharing your experiences with others. You’ll develop teamwork skills and learn how to be a leader. It’s a great way to build your CV and expand your social contacts.
The PAL Program provides all of the training and support you need to become a successful and valued mentor. Furthermore, your mentorship contribution with PAL will be recognised by enrolment in the Monash leadership unit, ENP 1008 Peer Ambassador Leadership Mentoring Program.
The program kicks off with a residential camp in February 2014, where new mentors will have the opportunity to meet each other and train to become mentors.
PAL is a zero-credit Monash passport unit that will serve for career development and skills that can also be applied to transform local and international communities.
How do I get involved in PAL?
PAL currently has openings for 2014 second and third-year Monash Arts students.
Second year students can provide mentorship to new students through the Ambassador Program.
Third year students are also eligible for the Ambassador Program or they can build on their mentorship skills in the competitive Leader Program.
I want to be a PAL mentor, sign me up!
